Réseau Transition is the French-speaking Belgian hub of the Transition Network, created by Rob Hopkins.

Its mission is to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities as they self-organize around the Transition model, creating initiatives that reimagine and rebuild our world. Ultimately it’s about creating a healthy human culture, one that meets our needs for community, livelihoods and fun. The team offers direct support to the local initiatives, and also runs events, conferences, training courses, blogs and webinars.

Vincent Wattelet

Systemic psychologist & team member of Réseau Transition

“Resilience and reliance, closely related, are at the heart of Transition. Reliance on oneself, on others, and on nature. A personal, community, territorial, global resilience. A human anchoring – fed by a holistic thought, based on a positive vision, cultivating pleasure and joy – which is necessarily created by projects that support a fair and equitable society. Local communities that are self-managed need to work on the capacities to cooperate. The anchoring of all living beings in nature is both a prerequisite and a purpose to make the current metamorphosis succeed.”

Our Support

In 2015 and 2016, the Foundation supported a part-time job to work on their communication, on awareness, on the development of new tools and on a new method to measure impact. The Foundation is also offering advice in order to enhance their strategy and business plan.

In 2017, the Foundation supported the salary of the communication and community manager. He oversees the development of new tools and raises awareness about various local actions and initiatives.
