Bec Hellouin's Farm
The Bec Hellouin experimental farm is now one of the most renowned organic farms that operates with the principles of permaculture. Research programs on the economic performance of the farm have shown impressive results. The abundant production of fruit and vegetables on small surfaces, despite the absence of machines or pesticides, and the high soil quality with a rapid regeneration capacity, has elicited growing interest from the general public.
The model makes the case for an agriculture model that is both productive and highly respectful of nature and the wildlife around it. An incredible feat achieved by Charles and Perrine Hervé-Gruyer who trusted their guts when embarking on this venture that many thought naive or downright impossible.
Aside from organising field trips to the farm, the Lunt Foundation provides financial support for the scientific research conducted at the farm and to the coaching and supporting of beginning experimental farmers.
